In his personal artistic practice, HO's drawings and paintings coherently experiment on formal and textual qualities with complex layering in order to study the materialities, spatialities, textures and gradations of depth, strokes and marks-making. In HO's expressions between abstract and figurative approaches, he invokes repetitiveness, improvisations and religious-like symbols as recurring elements with the concern of philosophical and cultural contexts to reflect spirituality, significance, possibilities and imageries of “Self” as the subject matter.
In the past 10+ years, such methodology has been actualised by HO progressively, extending his representations into the realms of sound-making, performance, installation and undefined expressions, etc. As both an individual creator and a member of the artist collective EJAR, he believes, embraces and aspires to bridging the fields of arts development, cultural concerns, public & community engagement, education, and creative work through diverse yet effective communication and outreach initiatives.
With grants and support by official organisations and private corporations, HO implements creative works and projects in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Australia, the United States, Portugal, Netherlands, Finland, etc.
